These Korean War-era shorts are a seldom-seen example of genuine "Cut Down" vintage military garments, meaning they were made in theatre from surplus US herringbone twill fabric or trousers by the ROK (Republic of Korea) army. Most of the waists have been taken in and many have a reinforced seat added.
This HBT fabric is one of the most famous US military fabrics, and was used in some of the most sought-after vintage US military pieces. The beautiful aging, fading, texture and feel of the fabric is second-to-none. These shorts are special, as a rare and lesser known garment to use the cloth, with an unusual history.
